10 Things We Will Do in HEAVEN That Will SURPRISE You
Do you ever wonder what we're going to do in heaven once we get there? are we just going to float around in the clouds and listen to harps playing for eternity? if that's what you think heaven is going to be like. you're in for a big surprise and I'm gonna tell you why right now, as I present to you 10 things we will do in heaven that will surprise you.
1. We will build our dream home if you're anything like me you live in a flat or apartment and you're trying to save some money to move into a house well in heaven we will be able to build our own house and the best thing of all is it's tax free by the way to be clear we're not going to be building houses specifically in heaven heaven is where the City of God is the New Jerusalem we're not going to be doing any building there. we are going to be building our houses on the new earth we will actually only spend one thousand years in heaven and then God will create this world to be a paradise for us to live in. and some of the things I'm going to be talking about in this video are actually going to take place on the new earth. and speaking about the new earth that God will create
Isaiah chapter 65 verse 17 says, for behold I create new heavens and a new earth and the former shall not be remembered nor come into mind. and when you jump down to verse 21 and talking about those who will live on the new earth, it says, and they shall build houses and inhabit them and they shall plant vine yards and eat the fruit of them. and besides that we will also have a room in the City of God the New Jerusalem.
Jesus said in John chapter 14 verses 2 through 3, in my father's house are many mansions if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am there you may be also. so not only will we have a country home on the new earth we will have a city home in the New Jerusalem.
2. We will see God in speaking about the New Jerusalem
Revelation chapter 22 verses 3 through 4 says, the throne of God and of the lamb shall be in it and his servants shall serve Him and they shall see his face and his name shall be in their foreheads.
I wonder what God the Father is going to look like. is he going to be a bright light speaking of the father.
1st Timothy chapter 6 verse 16 says, who only has immortality dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto which no man had seen nor can see. not to mention the book of Genesis tells us that man was made in the image of God, so that leads me to believe that we in some way resemble God. but exactly how I guess we're gonna have to wait until we get into heaven to find out. Jesus he's probably going to look like some Jewish guy because he has the same appearance now as when he was on earth. except for the added holes in his hands feet and side resulting from his crucifixion. and then there's the Holy Spirit, I have no idea what the Holy Spirit is going to look like. and once we see God what are we going to say, I don't even know what I'm going to say, I just came to realize I don't have any good questions, I'm gonna have to make a list or something before I get to heaven, so I can be prepared.
3. We will talk to angels now the Bible doesn't flat-out say this at least I'm not aware of any scripture that does but I think it's pretty safe to assume that if we're going to be able to talk to God then we're going to be able to two angels and that means we will be able to ask our guardian angels questions as well. I've had a few near-death experiences in my life and I'd like to know if my guardian angel was protecting me. one time I almost drowned when I was four years old and somebody saved my life by giving me CPR. another time I started drinking a bottle of solvent because it was in a soda bottle and I was rushed to the hospital. fortunately right after I drank the solvent I threw up and the doctor at the hospital said I'm lucky I didn't burn my intestines. and then there are times which I probably didn't even realize I was in danger and my guardian angel protected me. I'd like to know about that do you think there were times in your life when your guardian angel protected you? let me know in the comments section
4. We will be able to fly. the Bible says that we will get new bodies when we get to heaven and those bodies will be like Jesus's body.
1st John chapter 3 verse 2 says, beloved now are we the sons of God and it doth not yet appear what we shall be but we know that when he shall appear we shall be like him for we shall see him as he is.
was Jesus able to fly?
Acts chapter 1 verse 9 tells us that, he ascended up into heaven.
After commissioning the Apostles to preach the gospel it says and when he had spoken these things while they beheld he was taken up and a cloud received him out of their sight. Jesus basically flew from earth to heaven.
Isaiah chapter 40 verse 31 even goes so far as to hint that we will have wings like the angels it says but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength and they shall mount up with wings as Eagles they shall run and not be weary and they shall walk and not faint. imagine being able to fly and explore the universe. I think there's life on other planets. I think God has created other worlds which are unfallen, we we can't communicate with now because we are affected by sin but we will be able to communicate with after we get to heaven. for example
Hebrews chapter 11 verse 3 says, through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
The word worlds is plural so this is not talking only about our world not to mention scientists have estimated that there are between 100 billion to 200 billion galaxies that have been discovered in the universe by the Hubble Space Telescope. and that's just the number we can see nobody really knows how large the universe actually is.
5. We will live in peace and harmony and speaking about the new earth
Isaiah chapter 65 verse 25 says, the wolf and the lamb shall feed together and the lion shall eat straw like the Bullock, and dust shall be the Serpent's meat and they shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain saith the Lord. and 2nd Peter chapter 3 verse 13, says nevertheless we according to his promise look for new heavens and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Righteousness means right doing so nobody will harm anybody else and people will treat each other with love and respect. that sounds awesome, but I wonder if I'll be able to ride on the back of a lion that would be pretty cool .
6. We will worship God every Sabbath.
Isaiah chapter 66 verses 22 through 23 says for as the new heavens and the new earth which I will make shall remain before me saith the Lord so shall your seed and your name remain and it shall come to pass from one new moon to another and from one Sabbath to another shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.
You know many professing Christians claim it's not important to keep the Sabbath anymore but if we're going to be keeping the Sabbath on the new earth and Jesus and His apostles kept the if why do so many people believe that they don't have to keep the Sabbath now. maybe they're being deceived. I mean it makes no sense for God to require keeping it in the past saying we will observe it on the new earth but it's not necessary now that's inconsistent and contrary to the character of God. God said in Malachi chapter 3 verse 6 for I am the Lord I change not.
7. We will judge the wicked. This will actually take place in the New Jerusalem in heaven after Jesus comes back he will take us to heaven and we will spend at 1,000 years there before God will create a new earth. During those 1000 years we will participate in the Millennial judgment which confirms the fate of the wicked.
1st Corinthians chapter 6 verses 2 through 3 says, do you not know that the Saints shall judge the world and if the world shall be judged by you are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters know ye not that we shall judge angels how much more things that pertain to this life.
the fact that this judgment will take place during the Millennium is confirmed by Revelation chapter 20 verse 4 which says, and I saw Thrones and they sat upon them this is talking about the saved and a judgment was given unto them, and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus and for the word of God and which had not worshipped the Beast neither His image neither had received his mark upon their foreheads or in their hands, and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
How this is basically going to work is God is going to allow us to examine his books of judgment in order to confirm that his judgment against the wicked is true and righteous. Daniel chapter 7 verses 9 through 10 mentions God's books of judgment being opened to the saved. it says I beheld till the thrones were cast down this is talking about the Thrones of the saved and I'll give a verse to support that in a min. and the Ancient of Days did sit whose garment was white as snow and the hair of his head like the pure wool, his throne was like the fiery flame and his wheels as burning fire. a fiery stream issued and came forth from before him thousands thousands ministered unto him and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. the judgment was set and the books were opened in terms of the saved sitting on Thrones in heaven and Jesus said in
Revelation chapter 3 verse 21 to him that, overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne even as I also overcame and am set down with my father in his throne after we confirmed that God is righteous and just after looking at his books of judgment the wicked will be destroyed in Hell fire and God will create a new heaven and a new earth.
8. We will not sin. I guess this is something that we won't do instead of what we will do. I could have rewarded it to say we will obey God or something like that, but I wanted to specifically ward it this way because it's a direct answer to a question I often get and that is will there be sin in heaven? and first of all the Bible makes it clear that nothing sinful will be able to enter into heaven.
Revelation chapter 22 verses 14 through 15 says, blessed are they that do His commandments that they may have right to the Tree of Life and may enter in through the gates into the city, for without our dogs and sorcerers and whoremongers and murderers and idolaters and whosoever loveth and to make it a lie.
and then there's Nahome chapter 1 verse 9 which says, what do you plot against the Lord he will make a complete end, trouble will not rise up a second time.
Many scholars interpret that to mean that there will be no rebellion and sin in heaven. not to mention the two primary things that tempt us to sin will be eliminated when we get to heaven. those two things are the devil and our sinful nature. the devil will no longer have access to us once we get to heaven, and he will ultimately be thrown into the lake of fire at the end of the millennium. and God will give us new glorified bodies and the second coming of Jesus which will not have a sinful nature with evil desires.
1st Corinthians chapter 15 calls our new bodies in corrupt, glorious, spiritual and heavenly made in the image of God.
But don't think that our heavenly bodies will automatically make us holy, because there is one thing which God will not change, which we will take with us to heaven and that is our character. that is if we have been preparing ourselves to live in heaven by putting to death our sinful desires. the Bible makes it clear that if we haven't been doing this we won't make it to heaven.
Romans chapter 8 verses 12 through 13 says, therefore brethren we are debtors, not to the flesh to live after the flesh for if we live after the flesh you shall die by the way the word.
Flesh in the Bible refers to our sinful nature but if ye through the spirit do mortify that is put to death the deeds of the body ye shall live. the reason why it's so important to subdue our sinful nature is because if we have any cherished sins in our lives that we haven't repented from before the second coming of Jesus Christ, he won't take us to heaven, because we would spoil the atmosphere of heaven and the problem of sin would reoccur.
9. We will reign with Christ. There are several Bible verses stating that we will reign with Christ in heaven and on the new earth. for example Revelation chapter 20 verse 4 and talking about the saved says and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. and in Revelation chapter 5 verse 10 the saved say about Jesus and has made us unto our God kings and and we shall reign on the earth. there isn't much said in the Bible about the extent of our reign or what functions we will perform during our reign, except for the fact that we will be kings and priests. this may mean that we will serve as Christ's ambassadors to the universe testifying to individuals maybe even on other planets of our experience and God's love.
10. We will eat vegetarian food this may come as a shock to some of you guys who like eating meat but in heaven we are going to be eating plant food. one of the reasons for this is because
Revelation chapter 21 verse 4 says there will be no more death and in order for us to eat meat we have to kill animals. this is basically a restoration of God's original diet for mankind, after God created Adam and Eve he gave him a plant-based diet.
Genesis chapter 1 verse 29 says and God said behold I have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth and every tree in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed to you it shall be for meat.
it wasn't until after the fall that people started eating meat. and if you do some deeper study you will discover that no followers of God ate meat until after the flood. because up until that time meat eating was prohibited. after Noah and his family departed from the ark God told them in
Genesis chapter 9 verse 3, every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you, even as the green herb have I given you all things. you know what else that means Adam and Eve lived their entire lives as vegetarians. because they died before the flood and they were over 900 years old when they died at least Adam was Genesis chapter 5 verse 5 says he lived to be 930 years, but it doesn't actually tell us when Eve died. the Bible gives us a glimpse of what heaven is going to be like and some of the things we will do there. we will see God face to face fly through the universe live in peace and harmony and get our fill of vegetables.
